High carbon tool steel blade. The handle is my very own damascus micarta making this a one-of-a-kind useable work of Art. Even though I could recreate these handle scales for sale the colors and pattern itself will be unique. The leather sheath is all handmade. Tooled, dyed, and hand sewn.

BEHIND THE MOOSE
Welcome to BEHIND THE MOOSE, my name is Jason Sinsley. A few years ago, I was looking for a new outlet for my creativity. I found pattern welded steel AKA DAMASCUS. The creative potential was limitless. So, I began making knifes. Each step of the knife making journey opened the door to several new hobbies altogether. Such as woodworking; leather, and resin. I'm now a jack of many trades and a master of aspects of some. I'm continuously learning and creating new things. Check back often. I plan for this shop to grow and evolve over time. I am extremely excited to take on any custom projects. From handles to sheaths and even entire hand forged knives. I'm in the process of perfecting 3D printed damascus patterns in a blade. All pinecone scales listed are one of a kind. Although I can make custom. Same with micarta. I am willing to attempt custom damascus micarta patterns upon review. Everything made in a mold I can reproduce. Just message me.

How it’s Made
I am a backyard blacksmith but also an Artist. I prefer Art have a purpose and function. Making knives gives me the opportunity to incorporate my Art into every aspect of the process.
